Hey slow down girl!
Doin' all that low flyin'
You'll get there.
Those same people you passin' now
Gon' meet you at the light.
Daddy you know you right.
Yeah, so where you going?
And why you in a hurry?
You'd have plenty of time, if you got up early.
Noooo, that's too much like right.
Gotta stay up all night.
Daddy, I said you right!
Now you wanna run over everybody on the road.
Yeah...you love to low fly!
Daddy you know you right.
I know I'm right!
You ain't got to tell me!
but I don't have enough speeding tickets to line a dresser drawer
What you say? Yeah, don't repeat it! You gon' too far!
I love you Daddy.
Barbara-isms
Barbara-isms: I see things from within the skin I'm in, my experiences with life and with other folks. It's not always right, not always fair, but it's always the way I see it. Thus, I write from that perspective, and am always willing to learn, improve, and contribute to the betterment of our society.
About Me
- by Barbara K.
- Anyone who knows me well, would smile slyly or laugh aloud while shaking their head. They might try describing me with some odd anecdote. I admittedly have a sense of humor, that catches most off guard. I am also oddly conservative, in a bohemian sort of way! Making others laugh at slightly inappropriate moments is a secret joy. I am a creative soul-an artist of sorts. I enjoy laughter, love and people who are not puffed up with ego. I am short patient with false promises, and with those who crave the limelight and status. I have had my share of joy and pain, but like to think I will be victorious over the pain. I believe in and love God, and depend on my faith in this journey. I am a daughter, a mother of a young woman, part of a loving family, and a good friend to some folks. I am intent on living and bringing joy and enlightenment into the lives of others, while gleaning some for myself! My pet peeves are superficial people, liars, and manipulators. I also abhor malicious gossip, and mean spirits. My mother taught me to "love many, trust few, and always paddle my own canoe."

Random Controversy??? (In My Mind)
Why do we constantly say, “out loud”, but write “aloud”? So, what I was thinking in my head, I have said out loud. Now, you can read it silently or aloud. I am taking a brief intermission in my usual blog directions to insert one of my random pet peeves.
I totally respect the right of
all people’s spirituality, faith, religion and beliefs.
With that said, there is one
religion that I cannot understand why Christians do not belong. That is,
Judaism. Jewish people are sons of Abraham, Christians are also sons of
Abraham. Christians believe in Christ. Christ was a Jew. Who told us to go and
develop Christianity?
I respect a lot of the Jewish
doctrines and practices. What days are set aside to remind us of the common
practices Christians share? Church, bible study, revivals (at various
churches), Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Christmas and especially Easter do not
represent all Christians because these days are not celebrated the same
way.
Jews are basically one race, with
one understanding. They aren’t Baptist, Methodist, Catholic, Pentecost,
Apostolic, or any of the other denominations of Christianity. They aren't
Jehovah Witnesses, Buddhists or heaven forbid the ambiguous agnostics (there
was a sloppy pun in there somewhere). They are Jewish people who practice
Judaism, AND you can be born a Jew or adopt Judaism as your preferred faith. It
is for reasons that escape me also an ethnicity!
I ask this question of friends
and family from time to time and always receive the same answer. Why are
Christians not Jewish? The answer is usually, "Jewish people do not
believe in Christ". I correct them saying that they do not believe Christ
is the Savior. However, many races of people have overthrown or murdered their
own ruler or leader. It
does not stop them from being White, Black, Muslim or whoever. One does not
simply change their race, religion ethnicity when their selected leader is
dethroned or assassinated. Christians, believing in Jesus Christ should follow
the practices of the Jewish faith. And for the record, Jewish people are
Africans. There is no continent, locale or even state named Jewish. So, why
call them Jewish Americans?
End of rambling...We can agree to
disagree. I’m fine with that.
